For the first time in 25 years, the Steve Miller Band is coming to Europe. The band will perform on October 18th in the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam, according to organizer Mojo.

The Steve Miller Band sold in the last forty years, more than 30 million albums. They gained fame with hits like The Joker, Take the Money and Run, Fly Like an Eagle and Abracadabra. In June the band will release their new album, entitled Bingo! after seventeen years.

The American guitarist and singer/songwriter Steve Miller was born on October 5, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Beginning his career in blues and blues rock, Miller's music later changed to a more popular-oriented sound which earned him success with a series of singles and albums from the mid-1970s through the early 1980s.

Miller was taught his first guitar chords at age five by his godfather, Les Paul, pioneer of the electric guitar and multitrack recording.

In America the band performs about 60 times a year on stage, but they have not visited Europe since fourth centuries. During the tour the artists will visit 6 countries, with the final performance in Amsterdam.
